The side exhibition “INVERT: Certainty. Vision” is related to the exhibition “Certainty. Vision. Francke today” currently on show at Francke Foundations at Halle. On the occasion of the 350th anniversary of reformer August Hermann Francke eleven international artists focused on “certainty” and “vision” –  terms reflecting the ideas of Francke. The artists examine these ideas within their works in order to find out about their suitability and reasonability in the present and future.

“INVERT: Certainty. Vision” presents a selection of the works which are currently on display at Francke Foundations at Halle, works in relation to the one’s exhibited, as well as new works of the artists participating. Furthermore, a documentation of the exhibition “Certainty. Vision. Francke today” will be shown.

“INVERT: Certainty. Vision”

What is for sure and certain today? Are there any new ideas and visions for a better future? Or do we live in relativistic collapsing times? The artists deal with these questions in their works, and the “solution” can be considered as an open laboratory consisting of photographs, moving images, audio pieces and installations.
